POSITION DESCRIPTION

We are a busy, fast paced Oyster Bar and Restaurant looking to add several team members for the spring and summer season.  We work together in a fun and energetic environment where all staff are trained to work in all positions.  Our Seafood Market is open from 10am-sunset and our Kitchen begins service at 12pm and operates as late as 7pm seasonally.  Open availability is preferred but for qualified candidates we offer set schedules, and each day contains multiple shifts providing an opportunity for flexible scheduling.  We are happy to work around school schedules and 2nd jobs for the right candidate.  We are excited to hire all levels of restaurant and retail experience and train for each station.  Everybody shucks oysters, everybody makes and serves food, everybody cleans what needs to be cleaned.  We are a shared house for tips. 

We are also taking qualified applications for a more traditional back-of-house prep cook to work within our Commissary program. 

Taylor Shellfish Oyster Bar and Shellfish Market is located directly on Samish Bay in Bow Washington.     

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Provide excellent customer service to all guests
• Ability to learn how to shuck oysters quickly under pressure
• Educate customers on Taylor Shellfish Products
• Ability to process shellfish quickly in accordance with company best practices to meet wholesale, retail and picnic demands
• Stock inventory
• Maintain clean and sanitary work place including but not limited to:  walk in cooler, kitchen facilities, restrooms, processing facility, display coolers, floors and stainless counters, doors and windows, sinks, picnic surfaces, oyster shucking knives, and other silverware, trash containers, shucking station, out-door service area.
• Accurately record wholesale orders via phone
• Maintain sales logs and retain shellfish tags with demonstrable knowledge of WA State Health codes regarding the clean and safe handling of in shell and shucked shellfish
• Work all stations within the Market Store effectively
• Reconcile daily sales to service report, count, balance and deposit cash drawer regularly

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Must have ability to create tags and operate computers
• Washington Food Workers Certificate
• MAST Certification
• Team and Individual leadership skills
• Organization and planning skills 
• Ability to work independently, at times with little direction
• Strong and sound decision-making skills 
• Proficiency with: (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Excellent verbal/written skills
• Well organized and detail oriented
• Must maintain positive company morale 
• Participates in company events, as needed
• Regular, reliable, predictable attendance 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
-Ability to sit, stand and/or walk on uneven ground 
-The employee may be required to stoop, bend, kneel, twist, and squat 
-The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the -ability to adjust focus
-Must be able to speak and hear well enough to communicate with co-workers, supervisors and managers
-Must be able to use hands for repetitive simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation

-Must wear boots
-Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
