Responsibilities:

  • Responds to inquiry calls, completes inquiry forms accurately, schedules assessments in a timely manner and documents follow up calls made regarding pending assessments.
  • Conducts assessments at facility or other locations.
  • Refers patients who are not appropriate for facility programs to appropriate resources.
  • Coordinates pre-certification process, admissions process for patients admitted to facility programs, including admission forms, and documents pertinent information.
  • Assist physician and practitioners in psychiatric treatment sessions.
  • Responsible for completing Prior Authorizations and Refill Request for Medication Management program.
  • Respond to all medical records requests in timely manner.
  • Delivers patient services in a respectful manner which promotes dignity and patient satisfaction.
  • Identifies safety needs including ability to detect possible signs of abuse and neglect and report same to clinical staff.
  • Identifies special mobility and equipment needs of patients
  • Making independent decisions within the scope of their certification involving patient care.
  • Use sound judgment in the informing Leadership of all decisions made and when/how they should be communicated.
  • Monitor and record through our Electronic Health Systems all aspects of the patients care

Certified Medical Assistant Requirements:

  • Current Certified Medical Assistant
  • 1+ years of experience as a Certified Medical Assistant in a similar treatment facility environment strongly preferred
  • One year of inpatient/outpatient hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification
  • An understanding and sensitivity to serve culturally diverse and special-needs population
  • Knowledge base of normal physical/emotional development and of psychiatric medical assistant care
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Able to respond physically with swiftness to a patient emergency.
