Immediate Opening for Plant Manager (Mexicali, MX)

SNAPSHOT!

Can you utilize and exploit lean manufacturing and leadership skills to improve production metrics? Looking for a Plant Manager who is passionate about delivering production improvement standards and will provide outstanding collaboration, industry best practices, and attention to detail as they design and develop high-quality products and systems.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Continuous Improvement. Responsible for leading and driving activities to achieve improvements in the operations of the plant, that lead to positive performance and financial impacts.
  • Production. Responsible for all factory production in Mexicali to exceed competitive lead times, quality and cost.
  • Production Scheduling and Planning. Responsible for production scheduling and planning including materials and manpower. Responsible for the ongoing accuracy of the MRP system.
  • Forecasting. Responsible for short and longer term forecasting of production, manpower, capital expenditures, materials and facilities.
  • Product Quality. Responsible for all quality and maintenance of ISO/AS recognition and responsible for all customer and supplier interface related to product quality.
  • Cost Containment Efficiency Improvement. Responsible to control costs and overtime and to recommend and implement productivity improvements.
  • Logistics. Responsible for the cost effective movement of all production materials from the Mexicali plant to Calexico, California and to and from customers and suppliers.
  • Purchasing: Responsible for the Procurement of all MRO items and all purchased material related to the production of products in Mexicali.
  • Equipment and Mexicali facilities maintenance. Responsible for all the repair and upkeep of the Mexicali facilities, equipment, tools and dies.
  • Capital Planning. Responsible to recommend and implement all approved capital expenditure plans for the Mexicali plant.
  • Training. Together with the Manager, Human Resources in Mexicali and the Director, Human Resources in Irvine you are responsible for the safety, supervision, motivation, discipline, hiring and training of personnel in the Mexicali plant.


Experience & Qualifications:

  • 5 to 10 years of experience managing Plants as main leader of the facility, with P&L responsibility.
  • Must be able to work effectively with employees at all levels of the company, as well as with suppliers and customers.
  • Hands on approach and expected to be deeply involved on the production floor.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated experience with Lean and Six Sigma Concepts (Kanban, 5S, visual management, Poka-Yoke methods, VSM, pull systems, Kaizen Events, Problem Solving Techniques, DFMA, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, as well as verbal, written communication and coaching skills.
  • High Emotional Intelligence and able to motivate team.
  • Ability to adapt easily to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent team building skills and ability to effectively train others.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in English, written and verbal.
