Zepf Center has been serving the Lucas County community for nearly 50 years. We are the leading provider of behavioral health and substance use disorder services in Northwest Ohio. Services include adult and child psychiatric, substance abuse, case management, residential, Crisis Care, and therapy programs, as well as career development and wellness services. Zepf Center also offers primary care medical services to our patients to contribute to their continuum of care. Zepf Center is a trauma-informed agency and environment for both patients and staff.


We are currently seeking a Contingent LPN to be responsible for direct nursing services, including data collection, assessment, and providing care directed by each client’s treatment plan or under the clinical direction of a Registered Nurse. Shifts are 12 hours.


Essential Duties of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Through client assessment and observations, continuously collects data that are comprehensive, accurate, and systematic.
  • As part of the treatment team, carries out appropriate interventions as designated by the treatment plan, or after consultation with the Registered Nurse.
  • Implements nursing actions that promote, maintain, or restore physical and mental health, prevent illness and effect rehabilitation under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
  • Performs general health assessment, monitors health status and takes appropriate action to restore and maintain health within the scope of licensure.
  • Utilities supportive therapeutic communication techniques to assist the client to regain or improve coping abilities, reporting any pertinent findings to other appropriate treatment team members.
  • Provides competent clinical care to specialized population including drug & alcohol treatment and treatment for children and adolescents. Demonstrates competence in age-appropriate assessment and treatment modalities for children and adolescents and understanding of how group and development issues change core needs for these populations.
  • Provides structures and maintains a therapeutic environment in collaboration with the client and coworkers.
  • Provides service in most appropriate setting based on client needs; may be called upon to provide services within the agency or in the field.
  • Works effectively and collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team.
  • Shall assist in the management of emergency, provide assistance to other staff in case of emergencies and take appropriate and positive action to control clients who are dangerous to themselves and/or others.
  • Provides backup in other service areas as is appropriate.
  • Accurately documents service provision and billing information to assure reimbursement.
  • Fulfills all administrative tasks and requirements.
  • Assumes responsibility for meeting the needs of each and every client they come into contact with.

Working Hours: (3) 12-hour shift per month. At least one of the 12-hour shift has to be on a weekend, 2 holiday per year.


Starting pay rate $21.50, based on years of licensure.


May be eligible for a bonus if certain conditions apply, including not having worked in Community behavioral health in the last 30 days.

Requirements:
  • A current Ohio LPN/ RN License
  • Have knowledge of chemical dependency
  • Able to function positively and effectively with patients, residents, medical doctors, and other staff members
  • Able to function in a changing environment effectively.
