Basic Function

Airvac is the global leader in the Vacuum Technology System industry. The primary function of our 3D CAD Draftsman is to transition the company from 2D engineering drawings to 3D engineering drawings using CAD software. They create detailed technical drawings and plans for various products, systems, and structures. They collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers and project managers, to contribute to the development and realization of products, systems, or structures.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets specifications and mechanical drawings. .
  • Develops a comprehensive 2D to 3D transition plan, considering workflow integration, training requirements, and resource allocation.
  • Utilizes 3D CAD software to generate detailed 3D technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics of products, systems, and structures.
  • Ensures 3D drawings comply with project requirements, industry standards, and quality specifications.
  • Conducts analysis and simulations on 3D models to ensure structural integrity, functionality, and performance meet design criteria.
  • Works closely with engineers to understand project requirements and makes necessary adjustments to designs.
  • Creates comprehensive documentations, including bill of materials (BOM), specifications, and design reports.
  • Makes revisions to designs based on feedback from stakeholders or changes in project requirements.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, gathering feedback, and making enhancements to the 3D design process.
  • Provides training for engineering to equip them with the skills required for 3D CAD software.
  • Provides support and guidance to ensure a smooth transition and proficiency in 3D design.
  • Performs various other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.

Required Skills

  • 2+ years' professional experience in 3D CAD.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and mechanical drawings.
  • Ability to work as a team in a collaborative environment as well as individually.
  • Software proficiency to include Windows, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Autodesk Inventor.
