Function: Provides services for children and adolescents participating in Children’s Harbor therapeutic day treatment program, including performing assessments; interventions to build daily living skills or enhance social skills, and individual, group, or family counseling
Supervisor: Clinical Director (LMHP)
Category: Salaried exempt
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in psychology from an accredited college or university with at least one year of clinical experience with children and adolescents; OR
- A social work bachelor's or master's degree from an accredited college or university with at least one year of documented clinical experience with children or adolescents; OR
- A bachelor's degree in a human services field or in special education with at least one year of documented clinical experience with children or adolescents
- QMHP-C Certification must be verified
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- In home counseling experience
- Familiarity with principles and techniques of youth and family counseling
- Organizational skills

Responsibilities:
- Builds positive relationships with children and adolescents based on trust, caring, and individual strengths and needs.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable rules, regulations and policies and procedures of the program
- Conducts written assessments on clients
- Develops written individualized service plans
- Maintains accurate and concise notes
- Identifies problem areas and needs of clients
- Provides direct clinical services to clients including therapy
- Provide therapeutic and crisis intervention and de-escalation on an ongoing basis as needed.
- Participate in classroom, program and individual student activities to assess student, school, and program needs.
- Coordinates with other involved personnel and families including child care staff
- Provide follow-up care and support to students transitioning out of the Day Treatment Program, such as referring individuals to appropriate level of care.
- Keep current on methods and procedures concerning working with individuals having behavioral and emotional needs to include continuing education seminars related to their field of work.
- Attend and participate in Clinical Supervision meetings, staff meetings and work related trainings and events as mandated by agency
- Prepares written discharge summaries and participates in discharge planning
- Maintains confidentiality of all client, family, and staff information
- All other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director
