Established in 2023, New Carrot Company, operating under the name Bolthouse Fresh Foods, is headquartered in the California Central Valley community of Bakersfield. Specializing in carrot production, the company caters to both retail and food service operations and is renowned for its Bolthouse Farms brand, widely distributed in major retailers across the United States and Canada.

WHAT YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN THIS ROLE

The primary function of this position is to place bagged finished product into master-cartons / trays for shipping in a timely manner, observing all safety regulations, ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met and to maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.

  • Ensure that proper packaging supplies (bags/trays)/ IFCO’s/cartons in are positioned to the workstation
  • Obtain trays/IFCO’s/ cartons from chute and place on worktable
  • Manually obtain finished bags of product from conveyor and place into master-carton/ tray / IFCO according to proper stack pattern
  • Push full bags/ trays/ IFCO’s / cartons on to conveyor
  • Ensure that product is packed properly and watch the seal, printing, code date, and pin hole
  • Count bags as they are packed to ensure that the proper quantity is packed
  • Remove defective bags from pack line and place into rework totes
  • Ensure that product with labels is properly labeled on both sides
  • Notify supervisor of any objects found in or on product or any pest being sighted
  • Remove substandard product from inline flow
  • Box assembly – builds boxes by hand. Grasps flattened box, shapes into box from, folds flaps down and pushes tabs into locked position, applies sticker with code date and product code
  • Perform other duties as assigned

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to work as a team and follow instructions
  • Perform all job functions safely

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bilingual Preferred (English/Spanish)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Environmental exposure –cold/wet conditions (40 °ree; or below)
  • Material exposure-moving mechanical parts
  • Occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles and vibrations
  • Required to climb stairways
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time during the work period
  • During the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize that certain “non-essential worker” personnel may at times store consumer-facing materials (including, but not limited to, EADs, coupons, promotional materials, etc.) offsite from Company locations, such as at associates’ homes or in vehicles. All such consumer-facing materials must be maintained in a smoke-free and secure workplace environment.

HOURS & WORKDAYS:

  • 1st shift (6:00AM - 3:30PM) Monday through Sunday; rotating weekends off, when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory
