Job Summary Description:

The Process Engineer will primarily oversee process improvement, systems development, and data management activities within the PURIS Materials Business. As a key member of the management team, the Process Engineer will foster a culture of continuous improvement and assist senior management with other diverse initiatives supporting the company’s operations.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Process Standardization and Improvements

  • Collaborating with operations management to develop strategic plans aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and quantifying savings associated with process improvement.
  • Designing, executing, and overseeing process improvement initiatives through the utilization of Lean-based improvement tools and methods.
  • Engaging with team members to pinpoint opportunities for improvement and choose projects for continuous enhancement.
  • Coordinating and guiding cross-functional Kaizen teams in documenting and enhancing processes.
  • Conducting value stream and other process mapping to identify current and future state flows of work, information, and resources utilized in completing business and production processes.
  • Spearheading the ongoing implementation and enhancement of existing 5S, Total Preventive Maintenance, and Statistical Process Control programs.
  • Collaborating with the Quality Manager to guarantee the timely updating of work instructions, standard procedures, and training materials as processes undergo improvement.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Creating and sustaining metric-driven approaches and measurement capabilities for product design, materials selection and testing, production processes, and the evaluation of finished products.
  • Accountable for the creation, upkeep, and administration of dashboards and interactive visual reports using Excel and business intelligence tools.
  • Collaborating with diverse information technologies to connect with SharePoint and other data sources, aiming to develop and integrate analysis and reporting tools.

Application Development

  • Assessing and enhancing existing systems while working with team members to seamlessly integrate new systems.
  • Working closely with the operations and IT teams to create and execute customized solutions for enhancing production scheduling and tracking, evaluating process performance, and managing quality.
  • Offering maintenance and support for current Excel/VBA applications that leverage Excel as a platform for vital sales, production, and quality applications.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of 3 years of experience in production supervision, continuous improvement, and/or quality, with a preference for candidates with experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the capability to engage effectively with individuals at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and strong leadership capabilities to drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word is a must.
  • Having experience in technical writing is a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency with VBA, database management, and/or process automation and control systems is an added advantage.
  • Experience with an ISO certified quality system is preferred.
