Ultium Cells Overview:

Ultium Cells is a joint venture lithium-Ion automotive battery cell manufacturing plant between LG Energy Solutions and General Motors. This new construction high-technology plant will have the latest battery cell manufacturing technology. The investment in this new business venture represents a commitment of more than $2.3 Billion. It will be among the largest battery cell manufacturing plants in the world. Ultium Cells will produce battery cells for General Motors North American electric vehicle applications.

Job Summary:

Quality Manager - Electrode plays a crucial role in overseeing various aspects of team management, production, quality, and customer satisfaction. Success in this role would involve effective leadership, efficient engineering & operational management, a focus on quality and safety, and meeting the needs of customers.


Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and Part Management

  • Understand Leadership direction and follow it properly.
  • Overseeing the execution of tasks to meet organizational goals.
  • Leading and guiding team members to ensure successful and safe work practices
  • Fostering a collaborative and productive team environment
  • Executing plans and strategies to achieve organizational objectives of electrode process

(Mixing, Coating, Roll Press, N&D)

  • Observe Key performance and lead training of the quality members.

2. Operation & Quality Management

  • Managing and coordinating day to day operational activities

(QA inspection, NCR, electrode quality, inspection equipment, etc)

  • Lead Problem Solving, decision making activities of quality issues
  • Continuous quality monitoring for the effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Lead process investigation to improve stabilities and capabilities.
  • Establish, Review, Approve of specification, work instructions, etc
  • Lead MSA, Gage R&R, Calibration, internal audit
  • Ensuring that the team’s aligns with customer requirements and expectations.

3. Safety and Compliance

  • Prioritizing and ensuring the safety of members.
  • Adhering to relevant regulations and compliance standards.
  • Monitor safety concerns on the work place and managing the improvement plan/activities to prevent safety issues.

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership methods: Focused on communication and coaching people.
  • Disciplined: Driven by objectives/KPI’s; consistent; and high personal ownership to upholding accountability to established standards and practices.
  • B.A. in Engineering, Business Administration or relative management experiences (minimum 5 years)
  • 5+ years of experience in complex mechanical assembly, tooling, and manufacturing in a highly automated.
  • 5+ years leading/managing multiple processes
  • Experience with or knowledge of large production lines, floor management
  • Able to work flexible hours as needed to support 24/7 operation.
  • Ability to maintain accountability and discipline, and achieve results, in a dynamic, growing environment while leading a 24/7 operation
