Plasman, Lawrenceburg Manufacturing - 2200 Helton Drive, Lawrenceburg, TN 38464 is immediately seeking a new member to join our team as:

HR Generalist

Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with good communication skills and would be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

  • Under minimal direction, the position of HR Generalist is responsible for assisting and supporting the HR Manager in all facets of human resources, including benefits administration, recruiting, policy implementation, reporting of information, employee relations and training.
  • Develop, update and provide recommendations for policies and procedures
  • Advise employee and management personnel on the interpretation of personnel policies, programs and procedures
  • Ensures that programs are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Analyze and provide advice to employees, supervisors, and managers on methods and approaches to resolve employee relation issues (i.e. employee complaints, harassment allegations, etc.)
  • Recommend, develop and maintain an accurate human resources information system including employee personnel files and relevant electronic data files
  • Responsible for accurate completion of daily time sheets and completion of weekly payroll and associated tasks
  • Effective claims management including investigation of incidents, completion of required forms. This would include internal investigation reports, including incident / accidents / near misses, in addition to completing proper investigations and reports to support WSIB, and leaves.
  • Administer all employee benefits, including health, life insurance, and group registered pension plans on a monthly basis. Ensure accurate records are kept, and manage billing for all external providers, verifying charges, accordingly, correcting errors accordingly.
  • Coordinate and maintain training needs and records and provide training, where required. Coordinate travel required for employees to attend training sessions as required.
  • Coordinate and maintain an effective performance management system including job descriptions, performance discussions, and performance evaluations. Ensure employees, supervisors and managers are working within the established Performance Management Program to document goals, objectives and progress.
  • Coach managers and supervisors in managing employee performance; provide support in guiding team through appropriate documentation of events, how to counsel employees and deliver corrective actions effectively.
  • Coordinate and maintain all employee vacation time and other paid time off records
  • Manage employee absenteeism and attendance program, issue corrective disciplinary action as required; report on statistics
  • Conduct recruitment and selection effort for all internal and external available positions
  • Build and sustain beneficial relationships with employment agencies and educational institutions to aid in the recruitment effort; support management and scheduling of all agency employees as required, working with individual departments, supervisors and management team.
  • Conduct new employee orientation and ensure paperwork is processed and benefits are managed properly
  • Manage salary structure, position documentation, and an evaluation system HRIS.
  • Provide consultation on compensation issues such as job descriptions, job design, market pricing and internal equity issues.
  • Support all aspects of Health and Safety, working in conjunction with the Health and Safety Coordinator.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze data, and make recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement
  • Contribute as project leader or team member on various department and business initiatives
  • Maintain all HR plant related forms and documents to IATF/QS14001 standards
  • Develop and implement continuous improvements to human resources systems, policies and procedures,
  • Contribute to efforts in maintaining a union free workplace by participating in team member committee meetings as necessary
  • All other duties as assigned by the Human Resources Manager, Operations/General Manager, HR Lead or the VP of HR
  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the department including administrative support roles and students.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR DESIGNATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a post-secondary school diploma or equivalent, with preference given to those who have completed some or all of a College level program with an emphasis in human resources or Human Resources Professional designation (e.g. C.H.R.P., P.H.R., S.P.H.R., G.P.H.R.) or equivalent relevant work experience.

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must Minimum of 1 to 3 years' experience in human resources, including a minimum 1 year payroll related experience
  • Familiarity with Fair Labor Standards Act, OSHA, EEO related legislation, and other related legislation.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity, trust and composure and is seen as approachable by all levels of the organization
  • Strong Organizational Skills
  • Strong Time Management Skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Understanding of expectations detailed through Organization Statements, Standards, Visions, Policies and Procedures (i.e. Mission, Values, Code of Conduct, Operational, Quality, and Environmental Health & Safety) as referenced in Employee Handbooks and communicated through Orientation and/or other training awareness opportunities

  • Additional training requirements may be identified based on plant-specific location (municipality/province/state/country) and/or operational needs that are commensurate with the duties, expectations and responsibilities of the role within the specific plant

  • Ability to perform well in high pressure situations

  • Possess sound financial and business insights

  • Meets expectation rating (rating score of 2 or 3) in all applicable Competencies as defined in the Performance Management Process.

  • Capable of independent travel to, from and within designated regions
  • Access to reliable transportation
  • Must be capable of performing the essential duties which include maximum safe lifts to the 75th percentile of the employee as determined by acceptable standards
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus
