Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)/ MLS- PRN

Seeking a caring MLS or MLT to join our laboratory team at Wilson Medical Center, to assist with coverage as needed on all shifts. The role offers an exciting position in a critical access hospital setting, where we care for patients of all demographics in our emergency department, inpatient and outpatient settings. Our laboratory performs a variety of testing in the areas of blood banking, hematology, coagulation, serology, urinalysis, and molecular testing.

Education requirements: Certified as a Medical Lab Technician (2-year) or Medical Lab Scientist (4-year) through ASCP (or equivalent) within one year of hire.

Job duties: Lab tech is expected to perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries; will interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge, exhibit problem solving skills of a highly complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting. Will be required to perform phlebotomy and specimen processing duties.

Certification required: Applicant must be an MLS or MLT certified through ASCP (or equivalent) as a Medical Laboratory Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician. Applicants who have a bachelor's degree and will be obtaining their certification within one year are also encouraged to apply.

Hours: As-needed PRN or casual shifts at variable start times, as applicant is available. Start and end time(s) and the total weekly hours/days are flexible as we are willing to accommodate the right candidate for the roll. This position may include nights, weekends and holidays
