We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our Davison, MI team as a Shipping and Receiving Coordinator. The Shipping and Receiving Coordinator will be responsible for managing the shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipping Coordination:
    • Coordinate outgoing shipments, including packaging, labeling, and preparing necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading, shipping labels, customs documents).
    • Communicate with carriers, freight forwarders, and couriers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
    • Ensure compliance with shipping regulations and requirements, including hazardous materials handling and international shipping regulations.
  • Receiving Operations:
    • Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and packing slips.
    • Inspect received items for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to the appropriate departments.
    • Ensure accurate and timely entry of received goods into inventory management systems.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Maintain organized and efficient inventory storage areas, including proper labeling and shelving.
    • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical inventory and system records.
    • Monitor inventory levels and anticipate restocking needs to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Documentation and Recordkeeping:
    • Maintain accurate records of all incoming and outgoing shipments, including tracking information, receipts, and invoices.
    • Prepare and maintain shipping and receiving logs, reports, and documentation for audit purposes.
    • Assist in resolving shipping and receiving discrepancies or issues with suppliers, carriers, or internal departments

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, supply chain management, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
  • Proficiency in using shipping software, inventory management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Forklift certification or experience operating material handling equipment preferred.
