Job Description: CNC Operator

Schedule:

  • 1st Shift 7-330pm Monday through Friday
  • 2nd Shift 3-1130pm Monday through Friday

Position Overview: As a CNC Operator at our Clearwater, Florida facility, you will play a crucial role in our manufacturing process by operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts and components. This position requires technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, mills, or routers, according to specifications and blueprints.
  2. Load raw materials into the machine and monitor the machining process to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  3. Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify the dimensions of finished parts.
  4. Make necessary adjustments to machine settings and tooling to maintain quality and productivity.
  5. Perform routine maintenance tasks on CNC equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  6. Troubleshoot issues with machines or tooling and collaborate with maintenance staff to resolve technical problems.
  7. Follow safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others.
  8. Keep accurate records of production data, including output quantities, scrap rates, and machine maintenance logs.
  9. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate workflow and prioritize tasks.
  10. Adhere to company policies and procedures regarding quality standards, productivity targets, and workplace conduct.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education or training in CNC machining is preferred.
  2. Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  4. Familiarity with CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code is a plus.
  5. Strong mathematical skills and ability to perform basic calculations and measurements.
  6. Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain quality standards under tight tolerances.
  7. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
  8. Physical stamina and dexterity to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials as needed.
  9. Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by production schedules.
  10. Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in the field of CNC machining.
