Description:

Essential Job Functions:

House Manager:

  • Supervise the DSP and report to QIDP of any issues at the CILA.
  • Assure that programs/services are being implemented at the CILA.

Overall operations of CILA:

  • Assure that medication counts are done timely and correctly.
  • Call in medications to the pharmacy as needed.
  • Take call-ins and assist with staffing.
  • Grocery shop and assure that all food items are provided for meals.
  • Contact maintenance person or QIDP when needed as soon as possible.
  • Assess the medical, health, and safety of the persons living at the CILA.
  • Assist the QIDP and the Individuals Receiving Services with scheduling community activities.
  • Assure that the overall needs of the Individuals who live at the CILA are being met. Conduct unscheduled home visits for the home you are responsible for to assure clients are being cared for and active treatment is taking place.
  • Reconcile and balance petty cash. Assure receipts are kept and given to the administrative office.
  • Responsible for all shopping needs (groceries, cleaning supplies, etc.)
  • Monthly census sheets are to be completed and sent to the management office by the 4th day of the month.
  • Convene monthly Advisory Council meetings and ensure that actions are followed up.

Medical Care of Individuals Receiving Services:

  • Assure us that all clients receiving services is seen by the physician as needed and at least every 6 months.
  • Assure that each individual who is on psychotropic medications is seen by the physician every 3 months.
  • Assure that each individual is weighed, and blood pressure taken monthly unless otherwise indicated by their needs and report any unexplained or significant changes to the RN consultant/physician.
  • Schedule labs and medical tests as ordered by physician and take individuals to appointments.
  • Assure that the facility receives a copy of lab and other reports for the individual's chart and make certain the attending physician has signed before putting in client chart.
  • Copy all lab and other reports and send them to RN Consultant.
  • Copy medication changes, doctor's orders, physicals, dental, vision, hearing and other appointments, and send to RN, QMRP, and Day Training program.
  • Check in medications for each individual monthly, notify nurse if any medications are not delivered
  • Order medications, assuring that the needed medications are always at the facility.

Supervision of Personnel:

  • Responsible for overall supervision of all direct support persons.
  • Assure that each new employee receives a TB skin test using the Mantoux method. If results are non-significant, less than 10mm, the TB. Skin test will be repeated within 3 weeks of the initial tests.
  • Job performance evaluations with DSP after 3 months of employment and annually thereafter with the input of the QIDP.
  • Review timecards to ensure accuracy and absence.
  • Fill in as needed as a DSP (See DSP job description).
  • Always check meds before the weekends to assure needed items are available. Keep the med cart straight and clean and discard all expired PRN meds and reordering as necessary.

DSP:

  • Implementation of all programs/services as scheduled.
  • Daily data recording on programs, activities, and outings in the community to report to QMRP.
  • Meal preparation following menu. Consumers to assist in meal preparation with staff supervision and assistance as needed.
  • Follow cleaning schedule and assuring facility is clean and safe.
  • Attend in-services and other training as scheduled.
  • Provide transportation for the individuals receiving services (work, activities, etc.).
  • Authorized Direct Support Persons must supervise self-medication programs and administer medication as needed.
  • Chart significant changes, behavior, illness, etc., in Universal Progress Notes.
  • Document incident/accident reports and report them to the QIDP/RN.
  • Other duties (file, shop, assist with pet care, etc.) as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties above.
Requirements:

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Verified Background Check
  • DSP Certified
  • Passing of ADSP Program

Work Experience

Knowledge, Skills and Requirements

  1. Must be able to satisfactorily complete pre-employment background screen exam for this position, drug testing, as well as an annual body mechanics screening.
  2. Data base knowledge a plus.

  1. Ability to communicate in English via phone, in writing and verbally in conversation with different levels of staff, resident families, and any outside contacts.

  4. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to blood or body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemical. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
