Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked – and have every other Friday off.

This position will be responsible for providing Design support to customer-funded programs and internal research efforts within our Spectral Solutions business unit of L3Harris Corporation.
 

Our Spectral Solutions business serves government and civil customers, solving the world’s most difficult problems in environmental, missile defense, and spectrum management missions. We specialize in high-reliability space-based remote sensing payloads that provide mission-enabling EO/IR capabilities to our customers.
 

Essential Functions:

• Uses independent judgement to create and release engineering drawings with 3D CAD tools, specifically PTC Creo Parametric.
• Provide CAD support (PTC Creo) to engineers and designers.
• Generate new drawings and documentation, as well as modify existing drawings and documentation.
• Manage and control mechanical digital data files and drawings.
• Applies use of of applicable government and industry standards including: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) and Engineering Drawing Practices (ASME Y14.100).
• Prepare and incorporate engineering change orders.
• Input data and manage hardware structures in a Product Data Management tool (Windchill / Agile).

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
   

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Strong mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing and assembly techniques.
• Pro Cable experience desired.
• Experience with Connectors, Cables and Backshells a plus.
• Previous experience in supporting the design of Space Structures, Ground Support Equipment, Mechanisms, Electronics Packaging.
• Prior Leadership skills.
• Active DOD secret clearance desired.
