The Retail Store Manager will manage daily operations of an outdoor-recreation themed store to ensure cost-effective and quality Store/Field Operations. Responsible for supervising personnel to include hiring, training, performance management, progressive discipline, and visual merchandising. Manages sales promotions, inventory control, stock layout and display, expenditures and budget maintenance, and control of physical inventories to meet sales and earnings objectives.

Essential Functions: 
  • Schedules, trains, and supervises employees to provide customer service to meet established sales goals.
  • Partners with National Distribution Center (NDC) Buyers and Replenishment team to effectively manage store stock quantities, proper replenishment, customer feedback on current assortment, and future product needs with projections.
  • Uses strong visual merchandising skills to develop unique displays that effectively promote store products and ensure inventory sell-through. Routinely reviews sales, promotions, and inventory to determine effective end-cap displays.
  • Creates and receives orders into the Point of Sale (POS) system using current policies and procedures.
  • Follows BSA policies and procedures established by Sales Management to include safeguarding cash, inventory management, paperwork, and reporting in a timely manner, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications: 
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of retail management experience, including strong visual merchandising skills and experience to create unique displays that effectively promote the outdoor-recreation lifestyle.
  • Previous work experience in an outdoor camping store environment strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Scouting Programs preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and social media platforms for marketing purposes. C
  • Knowledge of camping and outdoor activities in local area to effectively promote associated products and outdoor experiences. 
  • Experience in visual merchandising to create unique displays that effectively promote the outdoor-recreation lifestyle. 
  • Ability to speak clearly and effectively for general communication.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials and objects weighing 25 pounds or more.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, bend at waist, twist, kneel, squat, and climb.
Hourly Pay Rate: $25.00
