A Summer 2024 internship opportunity is available in Reno for full time students studying Safety, Industrial Hygene or any other realted degree

The NV Energy internship program is designed to ensure that it will challenge interns with meaningful work, expose them to a career in the energy industry, and help the transition from academics to the workforce. Participating in the internship program will provide great opportunities to gain experience in Safety for a major utility Company.

The goal of our internship program is designed to combine the theoretical training and practical experience to ensure that students obtain meaningful work experience. Candidate must be a self-starter, flexible, a quick learner, highly motivated and a good team player. Accordingly, you must possess strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills.

Successful students can build upon their existing skills and explore valuable careers in a variety of areas.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Works under the direction of the Director, Safety and Health to plan and execute activities for the department. Day-to-day activities will involve interaction with employees and external partners.

Requirements

This internship is open to undergraduate students currently pursuing a Bachelor degree in Safety, Industrial Hygene or a related degree.

To be eligible for employment as an intern a student must:
  • Submit NV Energy Employment Application and meet eligibility requirements.
  • Be enrolled in the number of credit hours equal to full time status at an accredited college or university.
  • Grade point average of 2.75 or above ( When applying, you must include transcript providing proof of at least 2.75 GPA for consideration)
  • Can commit from May 2024 - August 2024 with a 40 hour/week work schedule.


Compensation

$15 to $21 per hour. This is a non-represented position.
