About this job

The URA is the City of Pittsburgh primary economic development agency. The URA Carries out many economic development activities including housing development and financing, land development, leveraging state, federal, and other financial resources to support development, commercial real estate and business financing. The Intern will support various functions of the Commercial and Business Lending department. 


Job title:  Human Resources Intern
Department: Human Resources
Divisional Unit: Central Operations
Reports to: Sr. Human Resources Manager

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 
  • Participate in staff meetings and attend other meetings and seminars as required
  • Update our internal databases with various employee information like contact details and employment forms.
  • Assist with the administration of human resources policies, procedures and programs for company personnel
  • Assist with auditing employee data and completing reports on historical employee data
  • Provide timely and accurate customer service in interactions with employees
  • Create departmental resource forms to be distributed to employees
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding efforts for new employees 
Position Requirements and Qualifications: 
  • Must be an active graduate student, pursuing a degree;
  • Open to all human resources and business related degrees
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint
  • Demonstrated academic or professional experience with business and human resources topics 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team.

Physical Requirements: 
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA;
