SUMMARY

The Assistant Electrical Manager, holding a Master's Electrical License, is a vital member of the electrical department responsible for supporting the Electrical Manager in overseeing and managing all electrical operations within the organization. This position requires a deep understanding of electrical systems, a strong commitment to safety, and excellent leadership skills to ensure the efficient and compliant operation of electrical systems.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assist in planning, coordinating, and managing electrical projects from inception to completion. Ensure projects adhere to safety regulations and quality standards.
  2. Stay current with electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards, ensuring that the organization remains in full compliance. Advise and guide the team on regulatory requirements.
  3. Lead, train, and mentor electrical staff, promoting a culture of safety, excellence, and continuous improvement. Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
  4. Uphold a culture of safety and promote safety best practices, ensuring that all electrical work is carried out with the highest regard for safety standards and protocols.
  5. Assist in budget development and management for electrical operations, ensuring cost-effectiveness while maintaining quality and safety standards.
  6. Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve electrical issues, system failures, and other technical challenges in a timely and efficient manner.
  7. Maintain accurate records of electrical projects, maintenance activities, and compliance reports. Ensure all necessary documentation is up to date.
  8. Manage relationships with electrical equipment suppliers and vendors, negotiating contracts and procuring materials at competitive prices while maintaining quality standards.
  9. Be available for emergency response and coordinate emergency electrical repairs, ensuring minimal disruption and the safety of all personnel.
  10. Utilize your Master's Electrical License to provide expert knowledge and guidance on complex electrical issues, installations, and repairs.

LEADERSHIP/SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assists with the supervision of up to 5 employees.

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's Electrical License is mandatory.
  2. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred.
  3. Previous experience in electrical management or a similar leadership role.
  4. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.
  5. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  6. Strong project management and organizational skills.
  7. Leadership and team-building abilities.
  8. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Commitment to safety and adherence to safety standards.
  10. Proficiency with electrical design and project management software.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge and/or experience in planning the method, materials, and tools to complete projects
  • Excellent communication skills and abilities in leading and managing a team
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of software such as AutoCAD, Paylocity and Ungerboeck a plus
  • Intermediate Math skills (calculate figures/discounts, proportions, area, etc.)
  • Ability to work, nights, weekends, and holidays on an on call basis, when needed

DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

Duties are performed primarily in an office setting. Operates computer and standard office equipment, such as telephone and copier/printer. Must be able to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, taste, smell, and lift or move (more than 20 pounds). Environmental demands include exposure to wetness/humidity, work near mechanical parts, work in high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, risk of electrical shock, and risk of radiation.
