Our team is currently looking for a Project Scheduler. Position Overview Our team is currently looking for a Project Scheduler for a client in the Oil and Gas industry. The Project Scheduler is responsible for planning, scheduling, and progress reporting in support of department standards, proposals, and projects. Duties will typically be performed within an office setting during the Proposal and Engineering phases and then on-site during Construction and Commissioning. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES: General: Provide necessary information for establishing time objectives to meet project requirements. Coordinate client, engineering, and operations interfaces to ensure smooth and timely flow of information. Basics: Develop, maintain, and communicate the project time schedule. Use the project time schedule to drive the execution and timely completion of the project. Capture REX (Return of Experience) to promote continuous improvement. Support the Scheduling Manager with Departmental improvements within the Center (revision of procedures, development of new templates, deployment of Power Bi, etc.). Proposal Phase: Participate in the execution strategy and develop the frame schedule. Challenge the duration and sequence-of-development / constructability. Prepare the Basis of Schedule, including clear and specific assumptions. Project Baseline: Establish, maintain, and follow up plans and progress in accordance with internal procedures. Develop baseline progress schedule using existing templates and/or reference projects. Develop baseline progress curves using both early and late finish dates. Develop progress measurement tables for tracking of deliverables &/or quantities installed. Prepare SMART presentations to discuss, summarize and validate the planning assumptions and basis. Project Execution: Prepare forecast schedules based on actual project status and anticipated evolution. Develop and implement solutions / mitigation strategies for identified critical scenarios / problems. Keep a record of changes to the schedules via backup copy and “Maintain Baseline” function in P6. Construction: Perform quantity takeoffs. Refine standard Schedule Specification for each ITB (Invitation to Bid). Review subcontractor schedules for adherence to project specifications and need dates. Import subcontractor schedules into the master progress schedule and make necessary logic ties. Analyze subcontractor claims for delay and associated mitigation / recovery plans. Incorporate contract changes into the master progress schedule. Prepare schedules as requested or by anticipation, proposing scenarios and what-if simulations. Backup all Planning related as-builts and Lessons Learned to ensure benchmark and handover. QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS): Education and Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Experience: Minimum 5 years’ experience in EPC Project Scheduling. Minimum 2 years’ experience of full time job site scheduling. Large project experience preferred. Skills: Understand basic workflows for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction. Ability to read and understand Plot Plans, PFDs, P&IDs, One-Line Diagrams. Ability to balance strategic (big picture) thinking with tactical application (detail oriented). Strong business partnering skills to lead, influence, and drive behavior change without formal authority. Flexible with regards to travel (subject to individual project needs). Proficient with Primavera P6 scheduling software, including multi-file group projects. Experience with Physical Progress and Earned Value measurement systems.
