This is a hybrid role working partially in-office and partially from home.

The DI Claims Analyst provides support to the Individual Disability and Life Claims Departments by processing administrative tasks related to individual claim processing. On a limited basis, the Claims associate will evaluate, analyze, and adjudicate limited complexity disability cases. The DI Claims Analyst uses subject matter knowledge to evaluate, analyze, and adjudicate claims in compliance with State and Federal laws while providing timely and accurate service to clients. This position works under close supervision however at times may be responsible for analytical work that requires independent judgment.

What you do

• Establish new claims data in administration systems.
• Initial review of new claims request and policy record to determine active coverage types.
• Send claim forms to client and/or agent.
• Daily monitoring and distribution of all disability claims work items.
• File records of claims communication and documentation
• Compile vendor information necessary for creating accurate 1099 tax form record.
• Compile reports, for Life and Disability Claim teams as well as our Field Representatives
• Review and pay vendor bills.
• Corresponding with insured over the phone and in writing
• Process maintenance or low complex disability claims
• Additional duties as required.

What you bring

• Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience required.
• 0-2 years of related experience required. Previous experience in insurance industry is highly preferred.
• Previous Microsoft Excel experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
