General Summary

A skilled Painter with knowledge of various metals to apply paint and other coatings to metal surfaces, ensuring durability and corrosion resistance. A successful applicant should be hardworking, reliable and have good communication and organizational skills.

A painter is an individual with great hand dexterity and an eye for detail. Work with little supervisor while following all health and safety standards is essential. The goal is to contribute to the construction and maintenance of strong and long-lasting chemical storage buildings.


Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • To clean, paint, varnish different metal surface types with the primary duty include painting and prime exterior and interior of metal buildings / minimum SSPC-3 surface preparation.
  • Knowledge of paint equipment including electrostatic paint guns, cap spray guns and paint pumps.
  • Maintaining technical equipment for the job and ensuring that it is in working order.
  • Possessing a wide array of painting tools, including thin and thick brushes and rollers.
  • Safely disposing of chemical waste properly and safely.
  • Utilize different painting techniques based on the nature of the surface.
  • Paint small items and do touch-ups and caulking as needed.
  • Ensure proper ventilation.
  • Accurately read blueprints and take accurate measurements to ensure quality.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • High School diploma or GED
  • At least 1-2 years' experience painting metal surfaces
  • Knowledge of Hazardous Waste regulations
  • Have a great attitude and willing to grow with the company
  • Diligently follow safe work practices for yourself and team members at all times
  • Diligence and attention to detail
  • Good organizational skills
  • Must be able to work in a flexible team environment with job rotation as needed
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision


Working Conditions

  • Able to lift and carry 50 lbs to waist and over head
  • Ability to use ladders at least 10 feet off the ground.
  • Ability to bend, twist, squat, stand and walk up to 10 hours per day.
  • Wear all required PPE including: steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses and supplied air respirator.
  • Good physical condition and endurance.
  • Ability to work in high heat conditions.
