Aon, a professional services company, is seeking an experienced, collaborative Senior Counsel to support the Conduct & Ethics Investigations.

What the day will look like:

Conduct complex internal investigations related to potential employee misconduct in violation of Aon's Code of Conduct and/or the laws and regulations of the United States and other countries in which Aon operates, including anti-corruption, fraud, and other types of corporate misconduct.

Scope, manage, and direct complex, high visibility, and privileged internal investigations.

Coordinate with other corporate functions, such as Audit, People Organization, IT, Security, and Compliance to support complex, cross-functional investigations.

Collaborate with and manage outside counsel, as appropriate.

Serve as a day-to-day legal advisor for Aon's Global Investigations team responsible for investigating Code of Business Conduct violations and other legal, regulatory, or company policy violations.

Serve as the day-to-day legal advisor for Aon's Global & Regional Conduct & Ethics Committees providing advice on conduct and consequence management to minimize legal risk to the firm.

Support Aon's Ethics Point hotline, assisting with the escalation and triage of sensitive and high visibility hotline reports.

Provide updates and written work product to the Chief Compliance Officer and other senior business leaders on investigative activities and results.

Closely coordinate with Aon's Regional Conduct Committees to implement remediation activities, training, consequence management.

Review and update internal investigative protocols and templates to align with best-in-class investigation practices.

Develop and deliver trainings to investigators on investigative best practices, compliance trends and enforcement actions, updated internal investigatory procedures, etc.

Support on employment law related projects and initiatives and provide employment law advice to internal business clients.

Assist with Conduct & Ethics diligence related to Company's M&A activity.

Skills and experience that will lead to success:
  • A proven ability of 4 years of experience as an attorney.
  • Solid employment law experience and expertise.

  • Licensed in good standing to practice law in at least one State.
  • Strong legal and analytical skills with a creative mind set and a demonstrated ability to work on time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to gather facts from various sources and take initiative to get information that is not provided.
  • Qualities such as integrity, professionalism, leadership, judgment, initiative, follow-through, strong work ethic, reliability, critical thinking, ability to implement flawlessly, ability to work independently, relationship skills and respect for others.

Pay Transparency Laws:

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $135,000 - $150,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

This position is eligible to participate in one of Aon's annual incentive plans to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of any bonus varies and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
