About the Job:

The Director, Talent Acquisition will have the primary responsibility of developing and managing talent acquisition strategies. This role will oversee all aspects of the recruitment function including working with senior leaders and the Talent Acquisition Team to identify current and future organizational workforce needs while implementing plans to ensure quality staffing continuity.


In This Role, You Will:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the team; set goals and KPIs.
  • Lead the global Talent Acquisition process for all roles across the organization, including executive, corporate, operations and drivers.
  • Recruit for Executive level roles; liaise with executive search agencies.
  • Review and negotiate vendor contracts along with maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders to understand business needs and staffing requirements while directing the Talent Acquisition team on building a recruitment strategy and metrics tracking around those needs.
  • Direct the Talent Acquisition Team, providing coaching, guidance, development, and best practices.
  • Work with the Manager, Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and at times, the Manager, Driver Recruitment to understand workforce planning and build appropriate recruitment strategy.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Team on recruitment related advertising and internal communications.
  • Meet with senior leaders on a regular basis, ensuring recruitment needs are being met, address challenges and provide solutions.
  • Direct the development and revision of specifications and job descriptions.
  • Develop a strategy for sourcing, attracting, and hiring diverse talent.
  • Work collaboratively with the Safety Team in ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Provide guidance to the Talent Acquisition Team on effective methods for recruiting and attracting candidates, salary negotiations, and the presentation of offers.
  • Direct the development and management of the internal recruitment process.
  • Oversee the new hire check-in process, ensuring issues and concerns are being addressed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the applicant tracking system is being used to its fullest potential.
  • Proactively identify bottlenecks in the recruiting process; provide guidance to the team on decreasing time to fill and cost to fill.
  • Drive the team to improve the candidate experience by ensuring they progress through the recruitment process quickly and efficiently.
  • Direct the hiring and onboarding process, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Provide guidance to senior leaders regarding talent planning, recruiting, the interview process, and candidate selection.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators, present on a regular cadence to senior leaders while proactively identifying challenges and suggesting solutions.
  • Manage the recruitment budget.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Min. 15 years of recruitment experience is required.
  • 8+ years supervisory experience is required.
  • Thorough understanding of recruiting methods and best practices, as well as applicable policies and federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience in recruiting for executive level roles.
  • Strong familiarity with social media and professional networks to reach passive candidates.
  • Experience in managing a departmental budget and advertising/recruitment budgets.
  • Experience utilizing applicant tracking systems (ATS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to track and present metrics to senior leadership.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Preferred:

  • Experience in a transportation or manufacturing environment strongly desired.
  • Knowledge of DOT, desired.

This is an in-office role based in Charlotte, NC.
