Inspection Technician - Optical Fabrication/Laser Optics I

Job Title: Inspection Technician
Location: Fairport, NY
Duration: 11+ months
Hours of work/work schedule/flextime: B Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM)
Payrange starts from: $21/hour on W2

*Candidates must be compliant with DOD/ITAR requirements
*PPE: Steel toe shoes, safety glasses (non-prescription provided), clean room gown (provided).
PLEASE NOTE: Steel toe shoes will not be reimbursed.

This position includes significant duties such as:

• Glass handling and/or glass inspection experience preferred.
• Performs operations in compliance with work instructions and process sheets.
• Perform inspection by reading and interpret drawings, blueprints according to specifications.
• Completes production logistics by moving / transacting materials and information through the production system.
• Monitors process and records data.
• Performs quality tests, measurements, and inspections.
• Prepares material. with plant systems (e.g. document control, manufacturing execution system)Responsible for housekeeping and autonomous maintenance.
• Communicates effectively and updates/maintains records when required.
• Actively engages with continuous improvement and cost reduction programs.

Job Requirements:

• Hand/eye coordination / manual dexterity / attention to detail.
• PC skills and ability to operate electronic equipment.
• Comfortable working with cleanroom protocol.
• Have strong analytical capabilities.
• Have a strong work ethic.

Education Requirements:

• An AS degree or equivalent experience in optics or other technical field is preferred.
