Position in this function is responsible for supervising performance of non-medical counselor staff. Ensure staff are available as scheduled, trained in relevant systems and follows policies and procedures. Reviews reports/data in order to coach team members to meet metrics successfully.

Must be available for shifts between 8:00am-8:00pm CST Monday-Friday

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily operations of NMC staff
  • Be available to assist staff with risk calls or calls requiring additional consultation
  • Coach and train current staff, deliver information to NMC team regarding new and changed procedures, policies, etc.
  • Monitor and manage individual and team performance; offer constructive and positive feedback to team members and coaching for continuous improvement and development
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance Program
  • Conduct staff meetings, supervisor team meetings and clinical case consultations meetings
  • Regularly meet one-to-one with team members for performance, skill building and engagement
  • Provide weekly management reports to Associate Director
  • Coordinate and participate in training of new staff
  • Assure schedule adherence to optimize availability of staff
  • Track time and attendance
  • Serve as a liaison with other Optum departments
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Independent professional license, such as Licensed Psychologist (L.P.), LMFT, LICSW, LPC, LCSW and LPCC
  • Current unrestricted Behavioral clinical license
  • 5+ years post graduate clinical or social services experience
  • Experience in brief cognitive-behavioral, problem solving/family/crisis interventions with knowledge of Solution Focused and Motivational Interviewing techniques
  • Proven experience in ability to coach and mentor employees/team members
  • Proven strength and experience in data analysis, planning, organization, accuracy, problem solving, prioritization and rapid execution of multiple tasks
  • Competency in using multiple PC applications including Word, Excel, case management software, Internet applications
  • Proven ability to work with a culturally and geographically diverse population
  • Proven ability to address a variety of problems and issues as presented by callers
  • Proven ability to work flexibly and creatively with other professional team members
  • Proven solid written, verbal and interpersonal skills are required. Qualified staff must be able to use various computer applications and move through computer screens while talking with members
  • Proven solid, collaborative, proactive communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven highly motivated and the ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Pass a National Agency Check and Inquiries (NACI) Clearance and Criminal
  • History Background Check and FBI Fingerprints Check
  • Ability to prove US Citizenship and must speak fluent English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Independent professional license such as LPC
  • Leadership experience
  • Military service/military family member and/or solid familiarity with military culture and command structure
