Position Overview:

This team member demonstrates proficiency in and knowledge of technical functions required in accomplishment of regular patient-care activities. The focus of the clerical role is to provide general clerical and clinical support to the nursing unit. This team member is responsible for chart management, data collection, forms management and orders supplies. In addition, this position processes admissions/discharges/transfers and departmental communication. Completes necessary documentation of patient being treated. Maintains technical skills, provides team support in care delivery. The PCP also provides care based on the age-related needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient with consideration of their developmental/psychosocial needs, environmental safety, education needs, communication style and level of understanding.

Job Description:

EDUCATION

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent education/experience


CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE

  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider
  • CNA-Certified Nurse Assistant


PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

  • Prior acute-care or sub-acute-care experience as Unit Clerk within the last 6 months.
  • Experience as a Nurse Assistant in an acute-care facility or recent extended-care experience.


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology and basic anatomy.
  • Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle public contact, confidential information and maintain effective workflow systems; able to prioritize.
  • Demonstrated skills in the use of computer equipment and software programs.
  • Possess ability to read, speak, and write English legibly, spell correctly, and perform basic mathematics.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary.

Pay Range is $28.58 to $32.86 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
