Job Title:         Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts (LPC, LCSW)

Job Summary:

 

The primary responsibility of this professional is to provide cognitive behavioral family oriented, individual and/or group therapeutic mental health services, medication training, parenting skills training, and case management services to clients of the agency per state specified standards and requirements.  It is the responsibility of the professional to provide, at minimum, 54 unduplicated one hour direct contact sessions per month (totaling 108 clinical hours per month), Sunday through Saturday.  It is the responsibility of this professional to provide clients a minimum of 2 one hour session a month.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  1. Adhere to all current city, state and federal laws, rules and regulations, as well as CFGC Employee Handbook, including the safeguarding of confidential healthcare information and compliance with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA)
  1. Perform duties without violating any ethical, state or federal codes and requirements.
  2. Be familiar with and abide by the standards outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  3. Provide cognitive behavioral family oriented, individual and/or group therapeutic mental health services, medication training, parenting skills training, and case management services to clients of the agency per state specified standards and requirements..
  4. Maintain all case records (notes, treatment plans, and uniform assessments) in accordance with agency standards.
  5. Document with the understanding that all clinical notations are considered legal documents and can be used in the court of law. All documentation should be true and accurate and under no circumstance falsified in any manner.
  6. Prepare and present all assigned cases for review by supervisor, as required.
  7. Immediately contact your supervisor if you suspect a consumer has been a victim of abuse or neglect.
  8. Immediately contact your supervisor if you have been called to testify or be involved in legal proceedings.
  9. Maintain client confidentiality and be familiar with all HIPPA laws and regulations.
  10. Attend all Team, Individual, and Training Meetings as required and scheduled by management.
  11. Maintain professional certification and/or licensure, when applicable.
  12. Provide and maintain a valid driver’s license and copy of current auto liability insurance.
  13. This position requires up to 35% local travel and employees are responsible for providing their own transportation.
  14. Must have a working phone to provide services and be eligible for phone reimbursement.
  1. Provide services according to the efficiency Benchmark standards set by agency.
  2. Professionally represent self within community of involvement, understanding that you are a representative of a larger entity.  Ensure community is aware of all services offered within the agency.
  3. Serve on task forces as requested.
  4. Provide consultation to vendor agencies with whom our agency contracts, as required.
  5. Other duties as assigned.

 

 

 

Education and Work Experience Requirements:


  1. Knowledge: General understanding of adult and child mental health disorders, treatment of disorders, and documentation of treatment provided.  Knowledge of confidentiality and ethical guidelines for practice.
  2. Education: Must possess a master’s degree and a valid LPC, LMFT, or LCSW in the State of Texas.
  1. Skills:Should possess basic therapeutic skills, oral and written communication skills, and organizational skills. Must be goal oriented, motivated, and capable of working independently and using good judgment. Must possess a strong understanding and ability to work with diverse populations including various cultures, racial groups, and socio-economic levels. Must have an intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint). Ability to relate to consumers, employees, and the general public in a professional manner. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions. Must be able to prioritize. Ability to adhere to articulated policy and procedures. Ability to provide home visits as required.
  2. Experience: Trained in working with individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Children with Severe Emotional Disturbances, and delivery of services based on curriculum.  Prefer training in child and/or adult counseling, and family dynamics. 

 

Physical Requirements:


  1. Employee must be able to frequently (up to 65% of the time) sit, stand, walk, and climb stairs (if an elevator is unavailable).
  2. Must be able to frequently (up to 65% of the time) talk, listen and speak clearly in person and via telephone.
  3. Must be able to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to 10 lbs. in weight on occasion (up to 35%).
