Principle Responsibilities & Position Purpose: 

The Food and Beverage Manager is responsible for the overall operation of all restaurant locations. Key responsibility areas include team performance, increased sales and profitability, effective cost control and development as well as training and retention of employees. This position will have an additional focus on improving customer relations and service standards. This position works in cohesion with the Bar Manager and Floor Manager to attain efficiency and maintain the high standards in which we operate.  


EXAMPLE OF DUTIES & PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

  • Monitor the financial obligations of each F&B area to ensure all service standards are executed consistently and product offerings are according to set specifications. 
  • Ensure communication between all other event spaces and restaurants is accurate and effective  
  • Hire, train, supervise, develop, discipline and counsel all hourly F&B team members according to the Padre Hotel’s policies & procedures. 
  • The F&B Manager is a role that requires knowledge in all areas of the restaurant operations, lending support and coverage to the Bar Manager and Floor Manager when needed.  
  • Ensure all legal and compliance objectives are met in accordance with Human Resources’ policies and procedures. 
  • Ensure all employee disciplinary documentation is done fairly and consistently. 
  • Assist the property management staff in resolving all procedural and hospitality challenges.  
  • Ensure service and product training within each department is on-going. 
  • General maintenance & cleanliness throughout all Company restaurants is expected to be executed with consistency.  
  • Implement effective controls of food, beverage and labor costs among all sub-departments, in addition to maintaining all expenditures within budget 
  • Develop initiatives to build sales, profitability and guest counts. 
  • Expediently and effectively respond to customer inquiries/comments.   
  • Ensure compliance with all Padre Hotel policies and procedures that relate to food and beverage, as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS 

  • Audit customer checks, department changes and files to ensure accuracy. 
  • Supervise staff in creation & distribution of accurate written materials (ie: daily specials) 
  • Ensure contracts, menus, letters and reports are completed according to the Padre Hotel’s standards and policies. 
  • Manage, oversee and adjust weekly schedules for all employees 
  • Plan and execute special holiday events 
  • Develop short and long term financial operating plans 
  • Coordinate daily with Sales and Catering to assist in meeting objectives and budgets 
  • Oversee cost of goods 
  • Interview/meet with all restaurant applicants before offering a position 
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics to inspire team members to meet and exceed standards 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Food and Beverage Director. 


 

EXPERIENCE 

Minimum two years restaurant management experience required

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS 

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by management based upon the particular requirements of the company. 


Work with other divisions and areas of the park to ensure that the customers’ overall property experience meets or exceeds expectations and standards.
