Pay Rate: $2,700.00 - $2,900.00 gross per week

Number of Positions: 1

Start: ASAP

Length: 3-6 Months

Schedule: Monday-Thursday / 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM / 30 Minute Lunch / Scheduled 9.5 Hours but will most likely work 4x10s

Additional Details:

  • Local Anesthesia and Nitrous Not Required
  • 2 RDHs working per 1 Dentist


Responsibilities:

  • Work with administrative staff/front desk staff to schedule hygiene patients with efficiency.
  • Accurately chart each patients periodontal health.
  • Counsel patients on oral health, including the role of nutrition.
  • Check on patient comfort during treatment and help allay patient anxiety.
  • Apply cavity-preventative agents, such as fluorides and sealants.
  • Perform thorough and gentle prophylaxis to patients.
  • Accurately and appropriately record provided treatment.
  • Take radiographs for patients as prescribed by dentist.
  • Administer local anesthetics, if allowed by dental practice act.
  • Perform scaling, root planning and selective polishing or patients as appropriate.
  • Review patient health and dental history forms and update as necessary.
  • Oversee cleanliness of the treatment room according to sterilization procedures.
  • Counsel patients in Tobacco Cessation.
  • Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with office policies and procedures and all applicable legal requirements, such as the HIPAA privacy and security regulations.


Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 Years Current Experience Required (3-5 Years Preferred)
  • Associate Degree in Dental Hygiene Required
  • Previous Travel - Preferred


CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

  • BLS (AHA)


STATE LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

  • Maine
  • Radiology License


ABOUT THE FACILITY

The facility is a small FQHC and is one of eight clinics throughout Maine that serve rural areas where people have limited access to primary care and specialty services. The facility offers primary care, physical therapy, optometry, pediatrics, dental care, therapeutic massage, chiropractic care and acupuncture, behavioral health, podiatry, walk-in care, a pharmacy and speech-language pathology and therapy.
