Education/Training: A high school diploma or GED.

Experience:  One year experience in cleaning profession is preferred.

Position Summary:  Must be in good physical health and able and willing to perform heavy lifting and tedious physical chores inside, and when conditions warrant, outside the physical plant. Must have the ability to read and write, ability to follow instructions, identify materials from their labels and understand their directions for use, and be able to make written reports when necessary. Also, must have a genuine interest in working with and around seniors.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  1.  Dust furniture, light fixtures, lamps, window ledges, air conditioner units.
  2. Vacuum all floors. Dust all blinds.
  3. Clean and wash all basins, commodes, lavatories and fixtures.
  4. Clean and disinfect all chrome fixtures to avoid watermarks.
  5. Spot clean all walls.
  6. Pick up bottles, paper, etc. from floors and rooms and put in proper place.
  7. Report any repairs or hazards accordingly using the community’s work order process or system.
  8. Report any light bulbs using the community’s work order process or system.
  9. Wipe down all cabinet doors.
  10. Mop all vinyl floors.
  11. Daily removal of trash from all common areas.
  12. Keep all baseboards dust free.
  13. Keep all fans clean and dust free.
  14. Vacuum all carpeted rooms.
  15. Assist with laundry when needed.

Resident Service and Satisfaction:

  1. Fully understands all aspects of residents’ rights; maintain the comfort, privacy, and dignity of each resident in the delivery of services to them. Interact in a manner that promotes the emotional well-being of the resident.
  2. Responds to patients and family member’s concerns with empathy and communicate with them in a courteous and respectful manner.

Professional Development:

  1. Attend monthly in-service training classes.
  2. Maintains a professional demeanor and appearance in conformity with dress code standards.
  3. Maintains good attendance record.
  4. Maintains CPR Certification.

Physical Work Environment:  Must be able to lift or carry up to 50 pounds occasionally and to exert 20 pounds of force frequently. Physical activity involves sitting, walking, standing, carrying, bending, lifting, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
