Day & Evening Cooks for new Senior Living facility in Spearfish

Peaceful Pines Senior Living is seeking cooks for multiple shifts to provide nutritious, delicious, homemade meals for the residents. Must be compassionate, respectful, patient, and possess a sincere desire to enhance the quality of life for the people whom they serve and their families.

This position will be responsible for cooking delicious meals. Will need to have knowledge on operations of kitchen equipment safely and have knowledge on safety standards on food preparation. Will report to the Administrator and agrees to comply with and perform the duties and responsibilities as described below. May be asked to perform functions not listed below.

COOK DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE:

• Prepare and serve nutritious, freshly prepared meals and snacks
• Prepare morning, dinner, and supper per menu plan.
• Adhere to monthly menus for meals and snacks.
• Have snack ready for morning and afternoon coffee.
• Prepare meals in accordance with residents' diets: diabetic, low salt, etc.
• Wash dishes and clean up after meals.
• Keep kitchen neat and orderly.
• Keep all opened food in sealed air tight containers (flour, sugar, etc.)
• Daily log temperatures of refrigerators and freezers.
• Daily log temperatures of foods.
• Daily check food supply and keep a list of needed items, preparing list of required groceries weekly.
• Comply with all South Dakota of Health Requirements.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Perform all other responsibilities as assigned.

COOK PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Be at least 18 years old
• At least 1 year of working in a kitchen preferred

HC COMPENSATION:

• Full Time
• Shifts to include and rotate 6a - 2p, 10a - 6p
