Position Overview

To greet guests, take food and beverage orders, and to provide table service, excellent hospitality and proper guest relations during the meal.   

Essential Functions:

  • Works in the dining room greeting guests, serving food and beverages, and providing table service to guests in a professional, accurate and friendly manner.
  • Works on shift duties such as setup, side work, and cleanup.
  • Participates as a team player to help the smooth operation of the dining room. 
  • Keeps dining room neat, clean, and well organized.
  • Displays professional attitude and cooperation with customers and guests. 
  • Orders food and beverages accurately.
  • Keeps accurate records of sales, cash and non-cash receipts.   
  • Responsible for knowing health and safety standards and applying them.
  • Learns food, liquor beer, and wine menu, and answers guests’ questions appropriately.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Other:

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.  In addition, attendance at all scheduled training sessions and meeting is required.

Upon employment, all employees are required to full comply with Regency Hotel Management rules and regulations for the safe and effective operation of the hotel’s facilities.  Employees who violate hotel rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

Qualifications:

Education:       High school education or equivalent required. 

Some college preferred.

Experience:     One year hosting, bussing, or past serving experience preferred.

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary languages used in the workplace.
  • Must have good judgement and integrity when making decision regarding alcohol service.
  • Must know and understand proper and legal alcohol serving requirements.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with employees and customers.
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage menus and food presentation.
  • Must be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to communicate customer needs and resolve complaints independently.
  • Must be able to operate computer and point of sale system.
  • Must be able to act independently with minimal supervision

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for several hours at a time.
