Lead Network Engineer

Essential Job Functions:

• Determine network and system needs and install operating and application hardware and software.
• Provide input on hardware or software for an organization's purchasing decisions.
• Make needed upgrades and repairs to networks and ensure that systems are operating correctly.
• Maintain network and computer system security.
• Evaluate and optimize network and system performance.
• Add users to a network and assign security permissions.
• Diagnose and resolve problems when alerted by a user or an automated monitoring system.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must possess not less than 10 years network engineering experience on government networks.
• Must have experience collaborating with Government personnel to meet contractual objectives.
• Supervisory experience of other IT personnel is required for this position.

Required Certifications/Education:

• Bachelors Degree in Information Technology field.
• CCNA Certification
• Security+ Certification

Preferred:

• TOP SECRET DoD Clearance

Supervisory Responsibility: None

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional classroom and office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone, keyboard reach, stoop kneel to install/repair computer equipment.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work.
• Light to moderate lifting is required.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Workdays do not include working or conducting business on Federal holidays or when the Government facility is closed due to local or national emergencies, administrative closings, or similar Government directed closings.

Travel:

Minimal travel may be required
