Job Description
The Design-In Safety Engineer will have a passion for new technologies and workplace safety. This individual will understand the launch process in global operations with a vision for new and innovative approaches and is accountable for providing Workplace Safety technical and regulatory advice and coaching to site/functional operations.
Proactively identify potential Serious Incidents and Fatalities (SIF) in new technologies, modified assets, and systems. Shape the future of how Design-in Safety is implemented within the company and our strategic partners.
Developing and educating site employees to drive Workplace Safety cultural transformation; and Develops partnerships with key site personnel at Manufacturing and Non-Manufacturing sites globally.
Job Description
- The Design-In Safety Lead is a technical position responsible for supporting site implementation of the Workplace Safety System.
- Develops valuable strategic direction that drives successful execution of Global Workplace Safety Strategy Deployment at the site/regional level.
- Partners with their peers to share and demonstrate good practices across the enterprise, while supporting the site operational leadership.
Qualifications / Abilities
- Communicate proficiently to all levels of the organization (e.g., Shop floor to executives)
- Customer Focused
- Self-starter; learning on the fly.
- Demonstrates skills in cross functional team collaboration, data driven decisions and innovation.
- Demonstrates an understanding of global / national / local standards and regulatory requirements relevant to job duties.
- Prior experience in Manufacturing Operations and/or Safety professional
- Competency in devising Health and Safety strategies and implementing safety management systems for maintaining productive conditions.
Experience/Education
- Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Safety) with 5+ years of leadership roles in Engineering, Workplace Safety or Manufacturing Equivalent.
- Prior experience in Manufacturing Operations and/or Safety professional
- Prior experience with Industrial Hygiene / Engineering
- Working knowledge in business application software (Microsoft office, SharePoint, Power BI) and other related electronic tools.
- Experience in Safety, Occupational Health, Environment, Fire Management or Team Management in a leading organization (preferred)
- Competency in devising Health and Safety strategies and implementing safety management systems for maintaining productive conditions.
- Awareness about Statutory and Regulatory Compliances
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical Manufacturing SME (controls focus)
- Post Graduate studies in Engineering is desirable.
