Sure-Staff has a wonderful opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for an experienced Mechanical Engineer who has experience in the design of CNC machinery and tooling. Direct Hire position with a salary of $95k.
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will lead the design and product development of CNC machine tool and automation products. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our products meet market requirements, leverage available technology, and maintain competitive pricing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design machine castings and integrate electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, with proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
- Prepare mechanical engineering designs, drawings, specifications, documentation, and schedules, including cost, time, and resource estimates.
- Implement design for manufacturing, assembly, and service of complex machinery.
- Evaluate ROI, monitor development costs, and report on project progress to senior management while adhering to ISO 9001 design processes.
- Collaborate with international teams in sales, service, marketing, and engineering, managing cross-functional projects and global supply chains.
- Establish and execute product test procedures to ensure design and performance integrity.
- Provide technical support to machine assembly and field service personnel and mentor junior engineers.
- Conduct market surveys and competitive analyses to advise new product development and updates to existing products, enhancing our company's product portfolio.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design, specializing in CNC machine tools and casting design.
- Proficiency in design and analysis for static, dynamic, thermal, pneumatic, and hydraulic mechanics, including Finite Element Analysis.
- Expertise in SolidWorks and AutoCAD at an advanced level.
