Bottling Line Fill Operator On Site in Livermore, CA Pay range: $18.00 to $26.00 per hour Shift: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, overtime is required from time to time. There is a possibility of opening a swing shift sometime during summer, contingent on the business. SUMMARY: Sets up Bottling line operations/equipment and monitors production line to make sure it is running properly and efficiently. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following reflects management’s definition of essential functions for this job but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this job at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other reasons. • Performs set-up, sanitation, operation, and routine maintenance of bottling line and supporting equipment/systems. • Read work orders/formulas and Master Manufacturing Records to determine production specifications and information. • Sets up and adjusts the following equipment: Rails on entire line, cotton machine, labeler, heat tunnel, bottle blower, capper and shrink band machine. • Conducts on-going assessment of quality control and operational procedures. • Conducts on-going weight checks of product to ensure its meeting established standards. • Constantly monitors the line making sure equipment is working properly and efficiently. Check for problems on the line like lack of supplies and restock. If problem cannot be fixed, report to supervisor immediately. • Ensures that line is supplied with all necessary components (i.e. cotton, caps, bottles, labels, etc.). • Ensures that packaging standards meet established guidelines. • Complete paperwork when finished with the product and at the end of the day. • Oversees equipment and line sanitation requirements and ensures proper operation and care of equipment. • Notifies QC when equipment is clean and Hygenia swab is needed. • Meet and/or exceed production goals and guidelines for the product being run. • Performs other duties as assigned by manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: • The individual (s) is responsible for complying with all rules and regulations in the Employee Handbook and the Safety Manual • The individual (s) is responsible for completing all of the above duties as required within the required time frame • The individual (s) must comply with all Plant, State and Federal OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF regulations. • It is the responsibility of the individuals to communicate with his or her supervisor when and as necessary to complete their jobs as required. QUALIFICATIONS: • High school diploma, one to two years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Commitment to excellence and high standards • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Basic competence in coworkers’ duties and tasks • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills • Ability to manage priorities and workflow • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm • Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace. • Bilingual skills a plus. • Forklift certified preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to do the following: • Interpret complex laws, regulations, and/or policies. • Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously • Fix machine and equipment as needed with the necessary tools. • Calculate figures and amounts. • Walk, kneel, squat, bend, stand and climb stairs. • Reach, Twist, Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. • Grab, grasp and use fingers and hands to push buttons and operate machinery WORK ENVIRONMENT: • Total amount of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are cool/hot and noise level can be moderate to high. • This position is required to wear common protective and/or safety gear, i.e. gloves, face mask, hairnet, uniform, etc. • This position is exposed to small particles, odors, and allergens Pay for this position is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
