Production Supervision Specialist - East Hartford

Veolia WTS is looking for a Production Supervisor for it's East Hartford, CT service center. The Production Supervision Specialist provides direction and assistance to Ion-Exchange Regeneration work group in order to meet assigned objectives, production schedules and customer demands.   • Guidinga team of non-exempt employees to support the business in readying ion exchange products for dispatch for customer fulfillment.

  • Supporting daily schedule attainment to meet all internal and external customer commitments with top quality at the lowest cost, implement a strategy to reduce cycle times, and improve quality, service and safety.

  • Develop, coordinate, lead and execute daily production plans.

  • Work cross functionally/cross departmentally in an effort to support preparing daily production requirements for all products and maintaining operation in a ready to serve state.

  • Provide input to Engineering and drive control on production changes (MOC) and ensure all processes are aligned with established ISO policy and work instructions.

  • Provide support and assist in the development of training courses for new and existing employees.

  • Report and log any product defects ensuring these are resolved and report solutions appropriately.

  • Coordinate with Service Department and Logistics to ensure appropriate coverage/demands are met.

  • Maintaining and manage product inventory and plant chemical levels and track assets.

  • Provide operational reports, chemical management and other key performance metrics for department.

  • Work with Maintenance team to ensure all Plant PM and repairs are conducted on time.

  • Accomplish goals while maintaining high team morale, employee involvement, safety and teamwork.

  • Supervise and schedule all work shifts within the plant.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • HS diploma, GED or equivalent

  • At least 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

  • At least 2 years of water treatment or water treatment maintenance experience.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

* Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record history

* Ability and willingness to handle repetitive weight - 50 lbs

* Ability and willingness to work in all weather conditions

* Ability and willingness to: read, and interpret technical manuals, procedures, and regulations; to write reports; to subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure

* Ability and willingness to work in range of environments to include but not limited to industrial facilities, manufacturing facilities, and power industry facilities

Desired Characteristics:

  • Prior leadership experience and training is preferred

  • Prior experience with plant operation and maintenance

  • Prior experience with managing and working in a bilingual (Spanish) work environment.

  • Prior experience with MRP systems, specifically SAP

  • Prior experience with Google Workspace/Microsoft Office

  • Prior maintenance, controls or operational troubleshooting experience.

  • Associates Degree in electrical, industrial/mechanical, engineering, chemical or water treatment

  • Ability to build and lead a team through change

  • Strong analytical, problem solving, and project management skills

  • Six Sigma training is preferred

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to work without direct supervision

  • Strong understanding of business processes in a service environment

  • Ability to manage contract resources

  • Strong oral and written communication skills (English & Spanish preferred )

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
