HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO OUR TEAM (Overview & Key Responsibilities):

The Project Engineer designs and coordinates testing programs within Lube-Tech and external customers. The position works closely with internal R&D staff and customer engineers to test and introduce new lubricant products. The engineer will also perform engine dyno, bench, and field testing. The Project Engineer will draft detailed engine teardown reports and present them to customers. Often functions as an unsupervised laboratory operator and/or performs other tasks within the Lube-Tech manufacturing process.

  • Travels out-of-state up to 50% of the time, or as projects require.
  • Uses software systems to track tests, input data, and report results.
  • Meets with customer engineers frequently, both in-person and virtually.
  • Performs engine building, teardown, inspection, and troubleshooting.
  • Reports test results with conclusions for customer viewing.
  • Photographs engine and test components.
  • Helps assure mechanical test quality and repeatability.
  • Utilizes CAD to design improvements to mechanical tests & equipment.
  • Fabricates test fixtures and other equipment.
  • Writes and maintains test procedures.
  • Performs quality control on incoming raw materials & assists blending candidate products.
  • Occasionally performs non-test related assignments as directed.
  • Generates parts supply lists and maintains inventories.
  • Generates test reports in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Calibrates lab instrumentation.
  • Has a flexible work schedule.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • BS Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or equivalent degree.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-motivated, Punctual, Deadline-conscious, Urgency-aware
  • Knowledge with basic fabrication and machine tools
  • Knowledge with small engines, powersports engines, and dyno testing
  • AutoCAD, Solidworks or similar experience
  • Basic AC & DC circuits electrical knowledge
