The Vermont Disability Determination Services provides the medical eligibility decision for applicants filing for disability benefits under the Social Security Disability Program, the Supplemental Security Income Disability Program, and Medicaid disability. Medical consultants work independently and with the division's disability adjudicators to determine medical eligibility for disability applicants. Candidates must be in good standing and have a current Vermont medical license (M.D. or D.O.). Experience as a general or family practitioner or cardiologist is helpful. Program training and support are provided, and work is performed at the Disability Determination Office in Waterbury, VT. Telework is available.

Who May Apply

This position, DDS Medical Consultant - Temporary (Job Requisition #48615), is open to all State employees and external applicants. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours, and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.
