The Senior Director for Technology Risk & Analysis serves as an experienced technology leader in Capital Ones Card Technology organization as part of the Governance & Risk team. This is a visible, strategic, and high-impact leadership role as an advocate for continuous cyber program and process maturation. This individual is a Risk expert with a capacity to lead experts and also possesses the qualities of a skilled governance Subject Matter Expert (SME). This individual brings operational depth and breadth across a broad range of technology risk functions.

This individual plays a key role in the continued innovation of Card Technologys risk posture. The Senior Director enables competitive advantage by leading technology risk excellence in Card Technologys cyber risk and awareness functions at the organization as well as enterprise levels.

The Senior Director is responsible for shaping and implementing a bold strategic agenda for Card Technology risk and awareness, driving action plans, and building/leading a high performing organization to deliver results. In addition, this individual effectively influences key internal stakeholders toward sound cyber decisions.

Responsibilities:

  • Plays a key leadership role within Card Technologys community of leaders, driving strategy and collaborating with peers across Technology, Lines of Business, and horizontal functions.
  • Instills a culture that works toward the highest standards in cyber (safeguard the business) while ensuring that business requirements are understood and adhered to (enabling the business).
  • With an innovative mindset, employs new cyber assurance approaches to mitigate risk around current and anticipated risks and/or breaches.
  • Advances the companys overall mission to assess, improve and monitor cyber across the enterprise.
  • Builds relationships, influences and collaborates with second-line Risk Management partners, as well as executives across both technology and the business.
  • Guides the acquisition of professional services and tools for effective governance.
  • Establishes credibility throughout the organization by earning the reputation for being a dedicated senior leader and change agent.
  • Recruits, develops, and retains top talent, and uses excellent people leadership skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • At least 9 years of experience in information technology management
  • At least 7 years of experience in people management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters degree
  • 8+ years of experience in information and technology risk management controls
  • 5+ years of experience working with industry frameworks such as NIST CSF, FFIEC CAT, CIS RAM, FAIR and PCI DSS
  • 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity awareness and training
  • 3+ years of experience with information technology audit or compliance management
  • Industry-recognized professional certifications, such as Certified Risk & Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  • Financial services industry experience
