Responsibilities
- Design, perform, and analyze clinical assay development experiments related to 14 products, leveraging large datasets including both clinical and laboratory data.
- Serve as the expert scientist who can turn a hunch or intuition-your own or a colleague's-into a rigorous quantitative analysis.
- Work closely with different groups across the organization and across different products (e.g., Automation, Computational Biology, Software, Manufacturing, Clinical Operations)
- Communicate scientifically complex topics to diverse stakeholders across the company and externally through academic and clinical conferences.
- Influence the medical guidelines that impact the lives of millions of people.
- Thrive on handling diverse projects with a range of time-scales.
Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Chemistry, or related discipline.
- Deep understanding of nucleic acids-related chemistry and techniques (DNA and RNA).
- Well versed in computational analyses with large datasets and making quantitative arguments from first principles.
- Computational skills, preferably with fluency in Python or another scripting language.
- Track record of peer-reviewed publications; we're especially interested in those where you played a driving role.
- Excellent communication via speech, text, and graphics.
- Strategic thinker and implementer.
- A sense of humility and an eagerness to contribute to a supportive, interdisciplinary team.
Physical & Lifting Requirements
- Lifting Requirements - medium work or exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 20 pound of force frequently, and 10 pounds of force consistently.
- Physical Requirements - stationary positioning, moving, operating, ascending/descending, communicating, observing, reaching and repetitive motion.
- Use of equipment and tools necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Hazards and Atmospheric Conditions - exposure to fumes, dust, extreme temperatures, wet and/or humid, noise, vibration, mists or gases, mechanical hazards, chemical hazards, electrical hazards and radiant energy hazards. OSHA Category I - duties performed routinely requires exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
