Essential Functions

  • Ensure all samples that are received by the laboratory are logged in according to the appropriate procedure including labeling, logging, and acknowledging.
  • Ensure instrumentation is running, troubleshoot issues, and make or coordinate repairs as
  • Perform analysis as requested on the required turnaround
  • Clean and maintain equipment and
  • Maintain inventory of standards and supplies; order replacements as
  • Ensure all analysis are performed within the specifications of the appropriate
  • Provide SOP updates and details for corrective actions as
  • Report non-conformances to the QAM and Laboratory
  • Utilize laboratory information management system (LIMS) functions, including generating work lists, obtaining, and updating project status, and ensuring reported data is properly qualified.
  • Performs other job-related duties and projects as

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Applied Physical Science, Biological Science, or Environmental Science.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in general chemistry laboratory, or 1 year experience in a gravimetric analysis
  • Detailed knowledge of EPA Methodology- Specifically the following:
    • EPAMethod5,17,201A,202, and 30B

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office programs, including Work, Excel, and
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, both with internal customers and external
  • Ability to accurately read, write, and interpret laboratory
  • Professional behavior and
  • Ability to be organized and attention to
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task, follow up on pending issues, meet deadlines and work
  • General familiarity with laboratory safety, previous laboratory experience

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Sitting for extended periods and the use of hands to finger is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Duties frequently involve repetitive motions and eye/hand/foot coordination.

While performing the duties of this job, good manual dexterity for the use of laboratory equipment is needed. The employee is occasionally required to walk, lift, carry, push, pull, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, handle, grasp, and feel. Occasional heavy lifting is expected. Exertion of up to 30 lbs. of force may occasionally be required.

Use of applicable Personal Protective Equipment is mandatory.

*Pay rate would be hourly and influenced by experience. $15-18 for no experience and $17-20 for 2 years of laboratory experience.*
