User Experience (UX) Design Strategist - Graduate Intern

Myriad Genetics discovers, develops, and commercializes molecular genetic tests that determine the risk of developing disease, assess disease progression, and guide treatment decisions in Oncology, Women's Health, and Mental Health. We are seeking a User Experience (UX) Design Strategy Intern. As a UX Intern, you will work closely with our design and product teams to develop design strategies that support our business objectives and create value for our customers. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, conduct user research, and develop design artifacts that communicate your design strategies.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build context, gather requirements, and user insights.
• Conduct design research to map out experiences, opportunities, and challenges.
• Develop design strategies that align with business goals and user needs.
• Create user personas, journey maps, and other design artifacts to communicate design strategies.
• Participate in design critiques and present design strategies to stakeholders.
• Provide support in project management and other design-related tasks as needed.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a master's degree in user experience-related field of design, such as Design Research, Design Strategy, Service Design, or a related field
• A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables.
• The ability to manage ambiguity and work autonomously.
• Strong knowledge of design thinking and user-centered design principles
• Demonstrates passion for solving problems.
• Experience with design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and Miro
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather and interpret data.
• Strong visual design skills with the ability to visualize qualitative and quantitative data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to facilitate workshops with cross-functional participants.
