As we continue to grow, we are seeking a talented Cost Accountant to join our finance team and contribute to our ongoing success.

Position: Cost Accountant

Location: Columbus, Texas

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze manufacturing costs and variances to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain standard costs for materials, labor, and overhead.
  • Collaborate with production and procurement teams to monitor inventory levels and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular cost audits to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
  • Assist in the development of cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to optimize profitability.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual cost reports for management review.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing cost-related insights and recommendations.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and internal controls related to inventory valuation and cost accounting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required. CPA or CMA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Proactive mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
