A metal distribution company located in North Austin is seeking an Office Administrator to provide clerical and administrative support to their office. The ideal candidate should have exceptional communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Billing,/ Accounting, and have consistent work history with experience in a similar position. Experience as an Office Administrator, Office Manager, Accountant, or Bookkeeper may be an ideal fit for this role. This position is specific to the metals distribution and wholesale field of industry which includes but is not limited to aluminum, steel, stainless steel, brass, copper, pipe sheets, and tubing. The ideal candidate would be someone with proven experience in a similar position who possesses advanced customer service skills with consistent experience. 


Duties and Responsibilities:

•   Invoice processing and filing.
•   Cash, Checks & Credit Card spreadsheet reconciliation 
•   Data entry, filing, and office supply management
•   Managing phone calls, emails, and other forms of communication 
•   Maintaining records and a filing system 
•   Controlling credit and accounts receivable collections
•   Performing credit checks, verifying & preparing new credit accounts . 
•   Preparing month-end financial reports
•   Updating and maintaining procedural documentation
•   Providing general support to sales team, lead warehouse, and manager 

 

Skills/ Qualifications:

•    Proven experience as an Administrative Assistant 
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
•    Knowledge of office management systems and procedures 
•    Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, & Word, in particular) 
•    Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work 
•    Trustworthy and discreet when dealing with confidential information 
•    Attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
•    Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task 
•    Must have strong math skills 
•    Must be able to work late at month end to balance all accounts 
•    Business Degree preferred but not required
