Overview

Gilbane is seeking a Risk Manager II to provide day to day support for Gilbane business units, including the assessment of risk on projects, procurement of insurance products and ongoing administration of insurance products. Manage business unit relations across all functions within operations (leadership, business development, purchasing, project teams). This role reports to a GIG Executive.

***This role can be located near any U.S. based Gilbane office and offers a variety of hybrid and remote opportunities.***

Responsibilities
    Understanding of insurance markets (coverages, trends, pricing)
  • Familiarity with CCIPs, OCIPs, SDI, Builders Risk benefits, placements, coverage, contract entitlement, and implementation
  • Ability to perform contract reviews and communicate / negotiate terms with business units and clients
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal capabilities
  • Ability to work in a high demand, rapid paced environment, managing several open items concurrently and reprioritizing based on business unit needs
  • Advising on insurable and uninsurable risks to project teams and business unit leaders
  • Ability to evaluate prequalification of high-risk subcontractors and create appropriate risk mitigation plans
  • Ability to create and deliver training on insurance coverage and process
  • Ability to function as an integral part of a team, highly collaborative
  • Ability to coordinate and manage efforts involving individuals from different geographic areas as well as external partners
  • Strong financial / analytical skills
  • Ability to understand issues quickly and follow through to resolution
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong problem solving, planning, and organizational skills-including multi-tasking
  • Proficient in MS Outlook, MS Office, Excel and other critical RMIS software is essential
  • Works independently, requires moderate supervision
  • Able to handle complex issues with supervision
  • Interacts well with and can influence senior level BU management (PX/PM)
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5-10 years of experience in the construction or risk management industries
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
For Providence, RI and Glastonbury, CT this ranges from $78,200.00-$107,600.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
For Boston, MA this ranges from $82,000.00-$112,800.00 plus benefits and retirement program.
