Reporting to the maintenance manager, the Maintenance/Reliability Engineer is responsible for developing and leading the reliability process in a manner that will have a direct impact on equipment uptime, efficiency, cost management, quality, safety, customer satisfaction, innovation, and ultimately profitability. Key activities for this position include developing, owning, and driving maintenance reliability practices that will focus on building a world class reliability system. This role will also develop and implement training strategies to increase the skill sets of the maintenance teams. The Reliability Engineer will work to enhance our maintenance capabilities to deliver improved equipment reliability, decrease unscheduled repair and maintenance time, and develop strategies to drive lower maintenance costs.

What You'll Do:
  • Develop, implement, and own strategies that will improve current maintenance practices and processes driving better equipment uptime, lower repair costs, and lower material inventory levels/costs.
  • Leverage network and original equipment manufacturer (OEM) subject matter experts to develop reliability efforts through enhanced communication and best practice sharing.
  • Develop, own, and deliver comprehensive maintenance and reliability training to maintenance resources.
  • Provides technical support to production, maintenance management and technical personnel.
  • Through analytical tools, identify equipment end of life (EOL) opportunities, required equipment and process upgrades and develop & manage long-term capital investment plans.
  • Analyze equipment downtime data and develop & manage a warranty process that will drive OEM uptime and lower costs.
  • Own and regularly respond with subject matter expertise to maintenance/equipment related questions, own access to and distribution of OEM technical bulletin updates and facilitate strong communication with OEM vendors.
  • Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to deliver improvements in critical maintenance related metrics / KPI’s.
  • Develop maintenance benchmarking data / KPI’s in order to drive improvements.
  • Works with Project Engineering to ensure the reliability and maintainability of new and modified installations.
  • Participates in the final check out of new installations. This includes factory and site acceptance testing that will ensure adherence to functional specifications.
  • Professionally and systematically defines, designs, develops, monitors and refines an Asset Maintenance Plan that includes:
    • Value-added preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Effective utilization of predictive and other non-destructive testing methodologies designed to identify and isolate inherent reliability problems.
    • Provides input to a Risk Management Plan that will anticipate reliability-related, and non-reliability-related risks that could adversely impact plant operation.
  • Develops engineering solutions to repetitive failures and all other problems that adversely affect plant operations. These problems include capacity, quality, cost or regulatory compliance issues. To fulfill this responsibility the Reliability Engineer applies:
    • Data analysis techniques that can include:
      • Statistical Process Control
      • Reliability modeling and prediction
      • Fault Tree Analysis
      • Weibull Tree Analysis
      • Six Sigma (6σ) Methodology
    • Root-cause and Root-Cause Failure Analysis (RCA, RCFA)
    • Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)

What We Need from You:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years work experience.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Proven leadership ability and good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead multiple projects at a time.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), Outlook and Odyssey work order system, or comparable computer software.
  • Ability to work in team-based environment.
  • Very high level of attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of metric system and basic math skills.
  • Ability to transfer knowledge and train other team members.
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs. continually, and up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Ability to work in a non-climate controlled environment.
  • Ability to frequently bend, left, stoop, climb, etc.
  • Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately.
  • Ability to walk and/or stand constantly throughout shift.
