Summary: Function as primary support to the Director of Engineering including activities in development and management of Central Plant budgets, capital expenditures, preventive maintenance and energy conservation. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Central Plant, HVAC, Utilities and Emergency Power infrastructure. Manage and develop all Infrastructure staff, to include but not limited to Central Plant, HVAC, Plumbing, Kitchen, Electrical and Emergency Power. Ensure regulatory compliance to facility regulations and safety standards. Interact with Engineering staff, vendors, and management staff and communicate and coordinate work from other departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include: Hire, train, schedule, evaluate, and manage staff to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance, resources, and information to perform work responsibilities and achieve established objectives. Maintain department objectives, standards, procedures, and budget to ensure the proper management of department. Train, motivate and manage personnel on assigned shifts; implement disciplinary procedures. Rapid response to all emergency situations. Record and file reports as needed or mandated. Appraise work situations; direct, delegate, schedule and organize work crews through their leads to accomplish all assigned job functions. Assign routine and non-routine job functions to departmental employees; perform time and attendance. Maintain departmental cleanliness standards through inspection process throughout all assigned areas of responsibility by observing and correcting any work-related deficiencies. Ability to communicate effectively with customers and all levels of employees. Ability to effectively and efficiently move around work area. Ability to observe and direct actions of subordinates. Ability to use a computer, including Excel, Word, Outlook & Office Working knowledge of purchasing systems and time and attendance systems. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does have supervisory responsibilities that are to lead and direct staff in daily work assignments. Job Requirements: Must have an extensive knowledge of advanced plumbing, electrical, HVAC, air conditioning - refrigeration, and mechanical systems operations and repairs. Considerable knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC and NFPA and the ability to perform training. Must have excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and the ability to read and understand plans, blueprints, and technical diagrams. A good working knowledge of building construction standards and methods. Ability to work a flexible schedule and shifts – weekends and holidays as needed by department and/or business demands. Experience working in a luxury hotel a plus. Requires mobility and prolonged standing, walking, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs. Education and/or Experience: A minimum of five (5) years of hotel, casino or related engineering management experience required. Must possess proven management and administrative skills or, an associate degree in Facilities Management and work experience or, an equivalent combination of school, training and work experience.
