The Facility Maintenance Manager II for Smithfield, KY performs hands-on maintenance activities specializing in mechanical applications and supervises a multi-shift, multi-trade maintenance department.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all personnel-related functions for maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, and performance appraisals.
  • Performs more than one of the following functions: Welding, Pipe fitting, Mechanic, Electrical, and Preventative maintenance planning.
  • Supervision of all maintenance employees and shifts.
  • Perform maintenance activities including, but not limited to, Pump rebuilds, Preventative Maintenance, Basic installations of pipes, and electric work.
  • Perform basic repairs and upkeep in the Welding, Electrical, Pipe fitting, and Mechanical disciplines.
  • Acts as an assistant to higher-level maintenance personnel on larger, more complex maintenance activities.
  • Operates a forklift if required and trained.
  • Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Responsibilities will include working in a fast-paced high-volume facility. You will be in charge of your own department with the task of keeping the plant functional at all times while working in a safe environment.
  • Responsible for daily directing and performing preventative and routine maintenance on a variety of equipment including, but not limited to: pumps, compressors, vehicles, basic instrumentation, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and other equipment.
  • Diagnosing failures of vehicles and equipment, disassembling, repairing, and re-assembling parts as necessary.
  • Advises plant personnel on maintenance equipment-related concerns.
  • Is responsible for the daily scheduling and prioritization of Maintenance activities.
  • Provide leadership and direction, when required, to the other Maintenance Technicians while promoting a team-oriented work environment.

 

What does it take to work for Clean Harbors?

  • Previous experience in preventative maintenance and/or basic installations of one or more of the following: Electrical, Pipe fitting, Welding, Boilers, and Mechanics is required.
  • 1-2 plus years of plant or production experience is required.
  • Any electrical certifications are considered a strong asset (Journeyman Electrician);
  • Forklift operator certification or experience is an asset.
  • Valid Driver's License and Clean 3-year MVR are required.
